The Challenge
The owner of a self-storage facility wanted to create an online marketplace to advertise lien sales at facilities across the state and across the country. Cumbersome public-notice laws required advertising in local weekly papers, but he saw an opportunity to increase attendance — and sale price — by expanding onto the web.
Our Solution
We built a full-service auction listing site, with Google Maps driving directions and automatic alerts. Buyers can sign up for email or text alerts when there is an upcoming auction in their area or that matches their specific interests, and go to the website to get Google Maps driving directions, pictures, and more information.
Results
Storage owners that advertise lien sales on Rummage Marketplace see significantly increased attendance, while buyers save time by not having to read through lengthy newspaper announcements.
